Earthworks under construction

Standing at the top of the cliffs above Southland’s Curio Bay, you might be forgiven for feeling that the frigid wind trying to bowl you backwards and bending the scrubby trees at 45 degrees was blasting in from the edge of the world.

This contract consisted of concrete spall repairs on the bridges in the Otago Southland Region.

This was for the construction of safety barriers in the form of wire-rope safety fences and W-section guardrail. The sites were on SH 6 on the shore of Lake Wakatipu near the area commonly known as Devils Staircase and Wye Creek. This contract was completed before the contract completion date with outstanding results.
